Di Westlake – Pre School Manager
Hi, I am Di Westlake and i am the Pre-school Manager.
I live in a little village called Tredinnick, near Padstow, with my partner and son. We have many interests varying from horses to steam engines. I have a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, which i obtained during my college course at Bodmin College. I have worked in childcare since i left college in 2006. I really enjoy being part of children’s education. Watching them develop and grow into individual people is really rewarding. I enjoy planning the sessions and ensuring that all the children have a safe, fun and valuable learning experience. Especially when it is messy activities, i enjoy getting messy with paint and glue too!! I have always wanted yo work with children and my ambition was to run a Pre-school. I started at St.Mabyn Pre-school in September 2011. It is a wondeful setting and i am very proud to be part of it. I am also the: Child Protection Officer, Health and Safety Officer, Paediatric First Aider and temporary covering SENCO.

Anne-Marie Irons – Pre School Assistant
I am Anne-Marie Irons and i work as a Pre-School assistant. I live in a hamlet near Blisland. I am married with two girls and i enjoy walking and cycling, which is great as we live near the Camel Trail. Before i had my children, i worked in the secretarial field as a clerk/typist and then admin assistant. After i had my children i then went to Bodmin College and passed my level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education in 2006. I worked for four years as a Pre-School assistant at St Tudy Pre-School. I enjoyworking with children and seeing them develop and become more confident and grow into thier own special person. One of my favourite activities is cooking and i enjoy cooking with the children and it’s so rewarding to see them enjoy the food afterwards! Craft activities such as painting and drawing are another of my favourites and i enjoy singing and signing with the children. I find the job rewarding and have a good relationship with the children in the setting. I have also attained a level 2 in Food Safety, completed a basic Child Protection course and the Paediatric First Aid Course.
I am also a: Paediatric First Aider
Sarah Field – Deputy Manager
I have wanted to teach and work with children for as long as I can remember. Having grown up in St Mabyn and having attended the Primary School, I am really pleased to now be part of the Pre-school team. In my role I support learning and development in each of the pre-school sessions; and also run the Parent and Toddler group every Tuesday.
I gained qualified teacher status in 2006 after completing a four year degree in Primary Education at The College of St Mark and St John in Plymouth. Whilst studying I had
the opportunity to work in a variety of schools; from small Cornish schools similar to that of St Mabyn; to a very large Primary school in Inner City London.
I really enjoy providing creative and engaging learning experiences, and whole heartedly share in the Pre schools ethos that Learning is fun.
The Management Team
The Pre School’s management team is made up from dedicated volunteer Mums and Dads. We’re always on the look out for new members, so if you have a skill or would simply just like to lend a hand with fund raising, please contact the pre school here.
